Tales of The Black Dog are prevalent in the folklore of the British Isles where these nocturnal spectral or demonic entities were commonly held as a portent of death. Although most were malevolent, others served as familiars for witches or as guardians, protecting or guiding travellers at night.
Relief print hand-burnished on handmade Nepalese lokta paper in either rose or olive green, or on an old book page. Signed and stamped.
